A bequest may be of a specific sum, a percentage, or the residue of an estate. Unrestricted bequests should be directed to the Indiana State University using the following language:

"I bequeath____________________ to the Indiana State University, a non-profit corporation with its principal offices in Terre Haute, Indiana, for the general benefit of Indiana State University."

Similar language may be used to direct a bequest to specific uses at the University:

"I bequeath____________________ to the Indiana State University, a not-for-profit corporation with its principal offices in Terre Haute, Indiana, for the benefit of [department, college, and/or program name] of Indiana State University.
